Prince Johann Leopold (Wilhelm Albert Ferdinand Victor) of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (2 August 1906 - 4 May 1972) was the eldest son of Carl Eduard, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Princess Victoria Adelaide of Schleswig-Holstein. From his birth until his father's abdication, he was known as Hereditary Prince Johann Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

His paternal grandparents were Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany and Princess Helena, Duchess of Albany. Leopold was the fourth and last son of Queen regnant Victoria of the United Kingdom and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Johann Leopold had four younger siblings: Sibylla, Hubertus, Caroline Mathilde and Friedrich Josias.

He was heir to Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from his birth until the forced abdication of his father on 18 November 1918. The abdication was a result of the German Revolution.

On 9 March 1932, Johann married Feodora, Baroness von der Horst (1905-1991). This was considered a morganatic marriage and the Prince was forced to cede his own succession rights. Theywere parents of three children:

  • Marianne, Prinzessin von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1933- ).
  • Ernst Leopold von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1935 - 27 June 1996). He committed suicide with his third wife Sabine Biller.
  • Peter von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1939 - ).

Johann and Feodora were divorced on 27 February 1962 after almost thirty years of marriage. On 3 May 1963, Johann married his second wife Maria Theresia Reindl (1908-1996). There were no children.
