Mary Elphinstone, Lady Elphinstone

Mary Frances Buller-Fullerton-Elphinstone, Lady Elphinstone and Baroness Elphinstone, DCVO (August 30, 1883–February 8, 1961) was a maternal aunt and a godparent of Elizabeth II.

Born The Lady Mary Frances Bowes-Lyon, she was the daughter of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the elder sister of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Queen Elizabeth). On July 14, 1910, Lady Mary married the 16th Lord Elphinstone and they had five children:

• The Hon. Mary Elizabeth Elphinstone (1911–1980)
• The Hon. John Alexander Elphinstone, later 17th Lord Elphinstone (1914–1975)
• The Hon. Jean Constance Elphinstone (1915–1999), married Captain John Wills and had issue.
• The Revd and Hon. Andrew Charles Victor Elphinstone (1918–1975), married Jean Hambro and had issue.
• The Hon. Margaret Elphinstone (born 1925) married Denys Rhodes and had issue.
