Ernest Augustus, Duke of York and Albany
Ernest Augustus, Duke of York and Albany KG (7 September 1674, Osnabruck –14 August 1728, Osnabruck) was the youngest son of Ernest Augustus, Elector of Brunswick-Lüneburg and Sophia of the Palatinate and a younger brother of George I of Great Britain.
Ernest was Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück from 1715 to 1728. On 3 July 1716 he was created a Knight of the Garter and two days later was created Duke of York and Albany and Earl of Ulster.
