screen was started in the time of Cardinal
Beaufort (1405-1447) and
completed during the time of Bishop William Waynflete (1447-1486). Restoration of the great screen, with the addition of many new statues, was completed in 1999 under the supervision of the architect George Herbert Kitchin Winchester Cathedralral
