Princess Mary of Great Britain
The Princess Mary (February 22, 1723 – January 14, 1772) was a member of the British Royal Family, a daughter of King George II and Queen Caroline.
Early life
Princess Mary was born at Leicester House, London. Her father was The Prince George, Prince of Wales (later King George II), the son of the King George I of Great Britain. Her mother was Caroline of Ansbach, daughter of Johann Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach.
At her birth she was styled Her Royal Highness Princess Mary of Wales.
Her father succeeded as King George II on June 11, 1727 and she became Her Royal Highness The Princess Mary .
Marriage
On 28 June 1740, Princess Mary married Frederick II, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel at Cassel.
Death
Mary died in 1772, aged 48 at Hanau, Germany.
